Cornerspring offers a variety of preschool choices (2,3,5 day all day or half day programs) and all day programs for Kindergarten and Elementary. Cornerspring Montessori School is now accepting applications for 2012 summer camp. Cornerspring provides day camp for campers ages 3-6 and 6-12 for 8 weeks in the summer beginning the week of June 18, 2012. Each camp session will focus on a specific theme and will be culminated with art or science activities and include a field trip or visitor. Campers can sign up for any session. ANNUAL SILENT AND LIVE AUCTION
Save the date, May 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Shrine Club in Belfast. Cornerspring will be hosting its annual Silent and Live Auction to benefit the Tuition Assistance Program. There are lots of awesome items being donated so it is sure to be a fun night. The food is always amazing and this year, our very own Chip Curry from the Raven classroom will be entertaining you as the auctioneer. If you are interested in donating an item, please contact the school at 207-338-5800. Tickets will be on sale before the event and at the door.Ever wonder what to get that hard to buy for person, you know the one who has everything, well we have the answer. Purchase scrip/gift cards from major merchants through Cornerspring Montessori school and cross that hard to buy for person off your list. Students from the Cornerspring Montessori School held a bake sale this Spring and raised over $240 in support of the local soup kitchen. Middle School students from the Raven classroom visited the Belfast Soup Kitchen to present the staff with a check from the proceeds of the bake sale and to take a tour of the facility.
Each year Cornerspring Montessori School chooses an organization to sponsor as part of its curriculum in teaching students about community giving and service. This type of work weaves into all types of our academic curriculum such as math, language arts, etc. and helps our students learn such skills as committee formation, working in a collaborative fashion and correspondence. This year the school decided to sponsor the Belfast Soup Kitchen as our annual charity after hearing the news last fall that it may close due to lack of funding. Students rallied to do a food drive and art night in the fall and invited the Director, Alex Allmayer-Beck to the school so they could present him with several boxes of food items, along with a check from the proceeds of the art night admission.
